Profound Statements

Remarks from CBS Sunday Morning - Ben Stein

I Only hope we find GOD again before it is too late ! !

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on
CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish.
And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those
beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don't feel
threatened. I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are,
Christmas trees.

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas'
to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me
in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it.. It shows that we are all
brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't
bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key
intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche,
it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't
think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I
think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed
around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that
America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the
Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from
that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship
God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old,
too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these
celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh,
this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's
not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and
Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?'
(regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound
and insightful response. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened
by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get
out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our
lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed
out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection
if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school
shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she
was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't
want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you
better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not
kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we
said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children
when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be
warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed
suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And
we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience,
why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them
to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can
figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT
WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder
why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the
newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can
send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you
start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about
sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass
freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed
in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it
to many on your address list because you're not sure what they
believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think
of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did.
But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain
about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

Ben Stein

A Piece on Emotional Fitness

Emotional Fitness is a piece of whole body health and fitness...I am reading a really interesting book and I felt like a lot of people are struggling with this emotional issue these days, so I shall share a little information with you...

"Are you touchy? Would you like to be delivered from supersensitivity? If so, part of the answer is to face the fact that if you are touchy, the problem is not with those who constantly offend you or hurt your feelings, but it is with you and your super-sensitive nature. Being secure will heal you from being touchy.

95% of the time when people hurt your feelings, they didn't intend to do so. That means if you get your feelings hurt easily, it's because you choose to. The good news is that you can also choose not to. I really encourage you to lay aside supersensitivity. You will feel so much better about yourself and others.

It is interesting that people who are supersentitive about what others do to them are often totally insenstitive to what they do to others. Many times people are supersensitive because they have been hurt in the past, and so their bruised emotions are easily pained. That is why they are so touchy.

In short, look to God to fulfill your needs, not people, because He knows what is best for you."

Fav Quote for today: " If we don't do what we can do, then God won't do what we can't do. If we will do what we can do, God will do what we can't do. It's just that simple." ~J.M.

Foods for the Soul and Body

It's been said that God first separated the salt water from the fresh, made dry land, planted a garden, made animals and fish... All before making a human. He made and provided what we'd need before we were born. These are best & more powerful when eaten raw. We're such slow learners...

God left us a great clue as to what foods help what part of our body!
God's Pharmacy! Amazing!

A sliced Carrot looks like the human eye. The pupil, iris and radiating lines look just like the human eye... And YES, science now shows carrots greatly enhance blood flow to and function of the eyes.

A Tomato has four chambers and is red. The heart has four chambers and is red. All of the research shows tomatoes are loaded with lycopine and are indeed pure heart and blood food.

Grapes hang in a cluster that has the shape of the heart. Each grape looks like a blood cell and all of the research today shows grapes are also profound heart and blood vitalizing food.

A Walnut looks like a little brain, a left and right hemisphere, upper cerebrums and lower cerebellums. Even the wrinkles or folds on the nut are just like the neo-cortex. We now know walnuts help develop more than three (3) dozen neuron-transmitters for brain function.

Kidney Beans actually heal and help maintain kidney function and yes, they look exactly like the human kidneys.

Celery, Bok Choy, Rhubarb and many more look just like bones. These foods specifically target bone strength. Bones are 23% sodium and these foods are 23% sodium. If you don't have enough sodium in your diet, the body pulls it from the bones, thus making them weak. These foods replenish the skeletal needs of the body.

Avocadoes, Eggplant and Pears target the health and function of the womb and cervix of the female - they look just like these organs. Today's research shows that when a woman eats one avocado a week, it balances hormones, sheds unwanted birth weight, and prevents cervical cancers. And how profound is this? It takes exactly nine (9) months to grow an avocado from blossom to ripened fruit. There are over 14,000 photolytic chemical constituents of nutrition in each one of these foods (modern science has only studied and named about 141 of them).

Figs are full of seeds and hang in twos when they grow. Figs increase the mobility of male sperm and increase the numbers of Sperm as well to overcome male sterility.
Sweet Potatoes look like the pancreas and actually balance the glycemic index of diabetics.

Olives assist the health and function of the ovaries.

Oranges, Grapefruits, and other Citrus fruits look just like the mammary glands of the female and actually assist the health of the breasts and the movement of lymph in and out of the breasts.

Onions look like the body's cells. Today's research shows onions help clear waste materials from all of the body cells. They even produce tears which wash the epithelial layers of the eyes. A working companion, Garlic, also helps eliminate waste materials and dangerous free radicals from the body.

A String of Pearls

The cheerful little girl with bouncy golden curls was almost five. Waiting with her mother at the checkout stand, she saw them, a circle of glistening white pearls in a pink foil box.'Oh mommy please, Mommy. Can I have them? Please, Mommy, please? Quickly the mother checked the back of the little foil box and then looked back into the pleading blue eyes of her little girl's upturned face. 'A dollar ninety-five. That's almost $2.00. If you really want them, I'll think of some extra chores for you and in no time you can save enough money to buy them for yourself. Your birthday's only a week away and you might get another crisp dollar bill from Grandma.' As soon as Jenny got home, she emptied her penny bank and counted out 17 pennies. After dinner, she did more than her share of chores and she went to the neighbor and asked Mrs. McJames if she could pick dandelions for ten cents. On her birthday, Grandma did give her another new dollar bill and at last she had enough money to buy the necklace. Jenny loved her pearls. They made her feel dressed up and grown up. She wore them everywhere, Sunday school, kindergarten, even to bed. Jenny had a very loving daddy and every night when she was ready for bed, he would stop whatever he was doing and come upstairs to read her a story. One night as he finished the story, he asked Jenny, 'Do you love me?' 'Oh yes, daddy. You know that I love you.' 'Then give me your pearls.''Oh, daddy, not my pearls. But you can have Princess, the white horse from my collection, the one with the pink tail. Remember, daddy? The one you gave me. She's my very favorite.' 'That's okay, Honey, daddy loves you. Good night.' And he brushed her cheek with a kiss. About a week later, after the story time, Jenny's daddy asked again, 'Do you love me?' 'Daddy, you know I love you.' 'Then give me your pearls.' 'Oh Daddy, not my pearls. But you can have my baby doll. The brand new one I got for my birthday. She is beautiful and you can have the yellow blanket that matches her sleeper.' 'That's okay. Sleep well. God bless you, little one. Daddy loves you.' And as always, he brushed her cheek with a gentle kiss. A few nights later when her daddy came in, Jenny was sitting on her bed with her legs crossed Indian style.
As he came close, he noticed her chin was trembling and one silent tear rolled down her cheek. 'What is it, Jenny? What's the matter?' Jenny didn't say anything but lifted her little hand up to her daddy. And when she opened it, there was her little pearl necklace. With a little quiver, she finally said, 'Here, daddy; this is for you.'With tears gathering in his own eyes, Jenny's daddy reached out with one hand to take the dime store necklace, and with the other hand he reached into his pocket and pulled out a blue velvet case with a strand of genuine pearls and gave them to Jenny. He had them all the time. He was just waiting for her to give up the dime-store stuff so he could give her the genuine treasure. So it is, with our Heavenly Father. He is waiting for us to give up the cheap things in our lives so that he can give us beautiful treasures.

God will never take away something without giving you something better in its place.

Act Like A Christian

I was metaphorically hit by a big stick today... I was speaking with a young lady about her belief in Christ and I, out of ignorance and the lack of being prayed up, I passed a judgement that I shouldnt have. The devil was definately working against me in this conversation. Realizing what I had done, I apologized to her and explained to her that I should not have assumed anything because ultimately any choice she makes is between her and Christ. The devil hit me in my weak spot but little does he know that this will only strengthen my relationship with Christ and in turn I will be ready for next time!

I was writing down and studying my bible today and I flipped to Romans Chapter 12. I came across something that really spoke to me in my time of worship and I wanted to share with yall. These are some points that we might forget during our daily lives and being caught up in this world from time to time. This helped me refocus and really concentrate and be on top of my actions.

Romans 12:9-21 (New King James Version)

Behave Like a Christian

9. Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11. not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
12. rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;
13. distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.
14. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16. Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.
17. Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. 18. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
19. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"[a] says the Lord. 20. Therefore
" If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."[b]
21. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Updates

Hi everyone!
I know it has been quite a while since my last blog so I thought I would apologize and update yall on what has been going on!

Well, this past weekend I had my photoshoot that I had been preparing for, for 25 weeks. It went very, very well. The last few days were tough since I was dieted down and water depleted, but in the end it was all worth it. The photoshoot took 4 hours but we got some amazing shots! I cant wait to share them with yall. I will have them posted hopefully by the end of this week. I will get to see all of the proofs tomorrow.

Now that the shoot is finished it is time for me to transition into off season. I am a little apprehensive but its something that I need to do. I will take 2 weeks off and enjoy myself but after that its back more calories, no cardio, and a lot of heavy lifting! I cant wait to see how I progress in these next 6 months.

Along with all of the awesome physical progress that I have made, there have been business progress as well. Meaning that there are changes coming in the next year that I couldnt have even imagined! There will be 4 options for me to choose from once I graduate, so this is all in God's hands and I have been so blessed to have met all of those that have given me these options! I dont have all the details but when the time is right I will update everyone on the direction I am taking.

I hope everyone had a blessed and good weekend! Be safe this upcoming week!
